What you practice
- Module 1 — Surface inventory Name every device, seed medium, and secondary location. We start with maps, not firmware menus.
- Module 2 — Firmware rhythm Decide a review window that matches your risk comfort without chasing every release note.
- Module 3 — Backup reconciliation Compare metal, paper, and encrypted copies for silent disagreements.
- Module 4 — Passphrase hygiene notes Document how passphrase knowledge is shared (or not) without writing the secret itself into class materials.
- Module 5 — Timed recovery drill Run a practice restore on a spare or secondary device with a stopwatch and a calm script.
- Module 6 — Cadence log Close the loop with a one-page record for the next 90 days.
Learning outcomes
- Produce a written device-and-backup map you can update after moves or travel.
- Schedule firmware and unused-account reviews without treating every update as an emergency.
- Complete at least one timed recovery drill and note where friction appeared.
- Leave with a 90-day cadence log template tailored to a single- or multi-device home.

Do I need a specific hardware brand?
No. We teach routines that work across common devices. Screenshots use a generic flow; you adapt steps to your model’s documentation.
Will you tell me where to store seed phrases?
We teach how to map and review locations you choose. We do not prescribe a single “best” hiding place — that would be irresponsible and incomplete for your home.
What is a real limitation of this course?
We do not provide live remote custody of devices, and we cannot validate that your physical backups are correct without you running drills yourself. If you need institutional custody design, hire a specialist firm — this lab stays at the personal-routine level.
