When backup locations drift
Seed maps go stale for ordinary reasons: a parent moves, a landlord repaints, a suitcase stays in Busan longer than planned. Drift is rarely dramatic — until a recovery day.
Common drift patterns we hear in Korea
- Secondary backups moved during apartment renovations and never re-logged.
- “Temporary” storage at a relative’s home that became permanent without a map update.
- Travel kits that returned with a device but not with the accompanying notes.
A lightweight correction habit
Once a month, walk the Locate step with the map in hand. If a location changed, update the sheet the same day — not “this weekend.” In Multi-Device Ritual cohorts we also assign who owns the update when two people share a household.
